Stéphane Nicoll

Stéphane has 20+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on API development on the JVM. After having spent more than a decade developing large scale Java enterprise applications in the geospatial, financial, or logistics sectors, he joins the core Spring engineering team in 2014.

As a member of the Spring team, Stéphane has had the privilege of working on various aspects of Spring Boot and Spring Framework, with a focus on understanding its inner workings and collaborating with the fantastic community of contributors.

Spring Web Services 4.1.0-M1 available now

On behalf of the team and everyone who has contributed, I'm happy to announce that Spring Web Services 4.1.0-M1 has been released and is now available from https://repo.spring.io/milestone.

This first release includes 16 enhancements, documentation improvements, dependency upgrades, and bug fixes. Notable new features include:

  • Support for Apache Axiom has been restored now that it supports Jakarta.
  • Apache WSS4J has been upgraded to 4.0.0.

Spring Web Services 4.1.x is based on Spring Framework 6.2.x and Spring Security 6.5.x and will be the LTS in that line.

Spring Framework 7.0.0-M2 Available Now

On behalf of the team and everyone who has contributed, I am pleased to announce the second milestone of the next Spring Framework generation.

If you've missed it, we now ship milestones to the usual repo.spring.io artifact repository, but also to Maven Central.

The second milestone refines the work we've devlived in 7.0.0-M1, in particular arround our null safety support using JSpecify. Check the changelog for more details.

Spring Framework 6.1.17 and 6.2.3 Available Now

Spring Framework 6.1.17 ships with 17 fixes and documentation improvements. This version will be shipped next week with Spring Boot 3.3.9.

Spring Framework 6.2.3 ships with 60 fixes and documentation improvements. This version will be shipped next week with Spring Boot 3.4.3 and 3.5.0-M2.

On behalf of the team and everyone who has contributed, I am pleased to announce that Spring Framework 6.1.12, 6.0.23 and 5.3.39 are available now. While 5.3.38 has also been released, it got superseded by 5.3.39.

Please note that OSS support for 5.3.x and 6.0.x ends on August 31, 2024. As such, 5.3.39 and 6.0.23 are meant to be the last OSS releases. Commercial support is available
